The municipality Moldava is situated on the ridge of Krušné hory (the Ore Mountains) about 25km north-west from a spa town Teplice at a sea level altitude of 785m. Geographically, Moldava is divided into the upper part, where a border crossing and a railway station can be found, and the lower part, which is intended mainly for living and recreation. The municipality Moldava also includes a settlement Nové Mesto, inhabited primarily by cottagers, and defunct villages Pastviny and Oldríš. Obec Moldava leží na hrebeni Krušných hor 25 km SZ od Lázenského mesta Teplice v nadmorské výšce 800 m. Geograficky je rozdelená na horní cást, kde najdete obecní úrad, poštu, informacní centrum, knihovnu, silnicní hranicní prechod a konecnou železnicní stanici Moldavské horské dráhy. Dolní cást je urcena predevším k bydlení a rekreaci. Druhým hranicním prechodem pro peší a cyklisty se snadno dostanete k našim nemeckým sousedum
