This violin and bow that once belonged to W. Grant Egbert, the founder of the Ithaca Conservatory of Music which is now Ithaca College is on display in a glass case within a wall that separated the receptionist's lobby from a public lounge area of the Office of Admissions.
A sign next to the violin and bow gives its background. It is inscribed:
