The cable railway Altenahr opened in 1953 and was closed in 2011.
The cable railway led on a rope length of 650 metres on the 354-metre-high mountain "Ditschardt". In the open seat gondolas for two people the passengers overcame a height difference of about 180 metres. The season lasted in each case from Easter till the end of October.
Since the suspension of service the buildings go to ruin.
The old shed is accessible from the footpath. It served apparently as a workshop building.
