The open-air stage of the theater is huge. It has a size of 200x60 meters. The scenery reaches a height of up to 18 meters. Sometimes there are up to 400 actors at the same time on stage - together with horses and coaches. Nearly all actors are amateurs.
The theater is managed by the local club 'Volksschauspiele Ötigheim e.V.'. Already in 1906 the first performances took place on today's location.
