Canadian Army 25 Pounder built by Sorel Industries of Canada in 1942.
This type of artillery was in use by the Canadian Army and the Royal Canadian Artillery in particular from 1939 until the late 1950's when it was replaced by the 105mm Howitzer
This particular gun was in service from 1943 until 1955. It bears the markings of A Troop, 1st Battery, 12th Field Regiment RCA, one of the D-Day Units.
The gun features several memorials. Of note are the memorial plates on the lower front left deflectors. The leftmost one reads:
