EN: This wooden wayside cross stands on a forest trail between Breitenbach and Fehren.
The cross has a small canopy of metal and the beams consist of three thinner layers. The letters INRI are carved in the gables, on the side arms the dates 1811 and 1970.
Some small angel figures have been placed on the crossbars. Therefore I think that the cross has a deeper meaning for some locals; but I could not find any information about it.
DE: Dieses hölzerne Wegkreuz steht an einem Waldweg zwischen Breitenbach und Fehren.
Das Kreuz ist hat ein kleines Schutzdach aus Metall und die Balken bestehen aus je drei dünneren Schichten. Im Giebel sind die Buchstaben INRI eingeritzt, auf den Seitenarmen die Jahreszahlen 1811 und 1970.
Auf den Querbalken sind einige kleine Engelsfiguren abgelegt. Deshalb denke ich, dass das Kreuz für einige Bewohner der Gegend eine tiefere Bedeutung hat; ich konnte allerdings keine Informationen dazu finden.
