CAPE ROCK PARK, entrance on Cape Rock Road, is a landscaped parkway containing a circle drive approximately 6 miles in length. Tables and ovens are provided for picnickers, and the drive affords many excellent views of the Mississippi River. On the "Cape", a rocky promontory over the river, is a stone marker commemorating the trading post traditionally established in the vicinity about 1733 by Ensign Girardot.

Located in the northeast part of the city on North Cape Rock Drive, the park contains 21.3 acres and offers a breathtaking view of the Mississippi River. This park was the original trading post established by Ensign Girardot, for whom the city is named. The park is mainly undeveloped in an effort to promote the natural area located on the west side of the property.
