This is one of a pair of damaged cairns of the west slope of Moel Faban. At 408.7m the summit gives fantastic views of the surrounding Carneddau mountains and over to Anglesey.

The cairn can be reached via sometimes steep footpaths leading from the villages of either Rachub or Llanllechid.

Even in its damaged state the cairn is easy to spot amongst the gorse. Most of the stones have been removed, but there are many remaining kerb stones and the cist is still evident.

The cairn is believed to Prehistoric and possibly used for burial or religious purposes. However over the years it has been damaged by treasure hunters and for shelter building.
