This 14.4 hectares (35.7 acres) city park is named for Olympian Linda Thom. The formal address for the park is 1324 Bank Street.

Linda Thom represented Canada at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. This was the first olympics to host female shooting competitions. Thom won the gold medal in 25 metre pistol (or sport pistol). Thirty shooters from twenty-one nations competed in this event.
