Sie ist der Inbegriff eines Märchenschlosses: die Burg Eltz. Natürlich muss man sich das Erscheinen der Traumburg im Tal der Elz erarbeiten. Steil ist der Anstieg mit vielen Aussichten und richtigem Ausguck. Über die Höhen, durch wogende Felder mit scheinbar unbegrenztem Weitblick taucht man allmählich wieder in das Elztal ein.
Kühl ist es im Tal, in dem die Elz und der Wanderweg von Schlinge zu Schlinge bis zu jenem Punkt führen, wo die Burg wie eine Fata Morgana aus Tal und Fels emporwächst. Natürlich stattet man der einstigen Ganerbenburg, die niemals zerstört wurde, einen Besuch ab. Der sich anschließende Weg führt mal oberhalb, mal direkt am Elzbach entlang.

It is the epitome of a fairy-tale castle: Eltz Castle. Of course one must work out the appearance of the dream castle in the valley of the Elz. Steep is the rise with many views and proper lookout.
