On my visit, the Welcome to Arkansas sign was here, but the sign for Welcome to Oklahoma was missing, only the posts still there. There are signs for the road changing from OK Hwy 1 or AR Hwy 88.

The Talimena Scenic Drive runs from Talihena OK to Mena AR through the Ouachita mountains and Ouachita National Forest. It is very scenic from spring to fall, but it is especially picturesque during the autumn foliage change.

A sign just east of the border states this area is part of the Upper Kiamichi Wilderness Area of the Ouachita National Forest.
