Walter Turnbow Park is the newest greenspace / park in the city of Springdale. With ceremonies at 11:00am on July 4th, 2017, it was finally opened for all residents to enjoy.

"The public and the media are invited to an Independence Day celebration in Downtown Springdale! Starting at 11 a.m. on July 4, the event will kick off with the official opening of Walter Turnbow Park. The park is located in Downtown Springdale next to Shiloh Square, and is named in honor of Walter Turnbow, who has been a pillar of our community.

Turnbow is a long-serving member of the Springdale Industrial Commission and the Springdale Public Facilities Board. He has served on the Beaver Water District Board and the Springdale Water and Sewer Commission, in addition to the Springdale School Board, the Care Foundation, and the Arkansas State Board of Education. Turnbow and Mayor Doug Sprouse will be both speaking at the event."
