Memorializing the lives of 56 Springdale residents who gave the ultimate sacrifice in war, this touching monument covers every war from World War 1 through to the current conflicts.

From the base of the monument to the top of the helmet, this monument stands about 7' tall. There is a paved walkway that leads up to a lushly landscaped circular area that surrounds the monument.

Made of bronze, a globe rests on the base. Standing on the globe is an empty pair of combat boots, and a rifle positioned in between the boots. Resting on top of the rifle is a helmet.

An inscription plaque on the front reads as follows:

"IN HONOR OF ALL SPRINGDALE CITIZENS

WHO PROUDLY SERVED, AND IN MEMORY OF

THOSE WHO MADE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE."

On the back of the monument, another plaque lists the names of the 56 servicemen who died in war.
