EN The summit of Usclats dominates the terminal part of valley of the Bléone which waters the prefecture of Digne. This summit once had a first village, of which there are only a few remains, plus an ancestral chapel kept in perfect condition: the Saint-Philippe chapel, an old parish church.

Its construction dates back to the 11th century, when the village was located on the hill of Saint-Philippe. Of the original building there remains only the triumphal arch and the apse in the cul-de-four. It was damaged during the wars of religion, but was rebuilt and again blessed in 1721 by the parish priest Michel Alphand. From then on pilgrimages were organized every May 1st and October 6th. A "feast of the king" was even instituted there during the reign of Louis-Philippe. In 1838, a subsidy was even asked to the monarch to finance the repairs of the chapel, in exchange for the prayers of the inhabitants! The latter obtained satisfaction by receiving from the State an aid of 150 francs, which enabled them to carry out the necessary work.

The chapel was regularly maintained and restored to its bell tower in 1991 and to the entire roof in 2007. Today, every May 1st, the bust of the Apostle Philippe is worn In procession to the sanctuary where a Mass is celebrated.
