Paul Joseph Mefford was born May 3, 1980 and passed away July 14, 2002 Mission Beach, California.
“Mefford was a student at San Diego State University. He was shot during a fight over some bicycles stolen from him and his friends, who were gathered at a fire ring on Mission Beach.”

“SAN DIEGO - Paul Joseph Mefford, age 22, passed away at Scripps La Jolla Hospital in San Diego, on Sunday, July 14, 2002.
He was born on May 3, 1980, in Powell, Wyo., to Gary and Debbie (Dozah) Mefford. He attended the Powell schools, graduating from Powell High School with the class of 1998.
At the time of his death, he was a third year student at San Diego State University in the graphic arts department. He was employed at a popular Brazilian Pub as a bartender.
Paul was a leader, competitor and natural athlete. He loved to play football, baseball and basketball. He also enjoyed 'showing off' the beauty of Wyoming and Sunlight Basin to all of his California friends. Paul's last day was spent doing what he loved; hanging out on the beach with his friends and playing his guitar. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends in Powell and San Diego."Source: Billings Gazette
