A small plaque at Donalda Village Hall's main entrance recognizes the 100th anniversary of the municipality's incorporation.

Settlement in Donalda began in 1909 and the first businesses included a livery yard and lumberyard. The town was named after the niece of Donald A. Mann, Donalda Crossway. Mr. Mann was an early era Canadian National Railway official and one of the builders of the railroad.

Across the street from Town Hall is Canada's largest lamp. There is also a museum with over 850 kerosene lamps.
