Oskar Prinz von Preußen war der fünfte Sohn von Kaiser Wilhelm II. und später Herrenmeister des Johanniterordens und Generalmajor der Wehrmacht. Am 19. Juli 1904 pflanzte er direkt gegenüber der von seinem Vater gepflanzten
Kaisereiche ebenfalls eine Eiche: die Prinz-Oskar-Eiche. Beide Eichen stehen in der Nähe vom
Jägerhäuschen an einer Weggabelung mitten im Kottenforst, einem Wald südlich von Bonn, in dem der Kaiser besonders gerne auf die Jagd ging. Ein Gedenkstein am Fuße des Baums erinnert an seine geschichtliche Bedeutung.

Prince Oskar of Prussia was the fifth son of emperor Kaiser William II., and later the mayor of the Order of St. John and major general of the Wehrmacht. On July 19th, 1904, he also planted an oak tree right next to his father's so-called
Kaisereiche: the Prince-Oskar-Oak. Both oaks are near the hunting cabin
Jägerhäuschen at a fork in the middle of the Kottenforst, a forest south of Bonn, where the emperor liked to go hunting. A memorial stone at the foot of the tree recalls its historical significance.
