Though not actually the world's largest peanut, this sculpture is much loved by Durant citizens and travelers alike.

At the corner of 3rd and Evergreen, in front of Durant City Hall stands a monument, with a large peanut at its top.
Dedicated in 1974, this monument is dedicated to Bryan County Peanut Growers and Processors.
The peanut itself is a little over two feet in length and constructed of molded aluminum. Beneath the monument is a Time Capsule, to be opened in 2023.
