Action for Asperger’s utilises the skills of a number of qualified counsellors who also specialise academically and/or experientially in autism counselling and Asperger counselling.
Those who live with Asperger’s syndrome often see the world in different ways than those who do not have the condition. Individuals who have Asperger syndrome/autism currently account for 1 in 100 of the general population, and this statistic means that individuals with the syndrome are in a minority.

AfA’s counselling rooms also double-up as sensory therapy spaces; we believe in looking after our clients sensory sense of self as well as their emotional self, and in autism, the two are frequently found to be entwined. What is so good about our counselling centre is that it is accessible during school/college holidays (unlike institution-based sensory spaces that are open term-times only).
