His later utilitarian churches were a direct development of the church of the Good Shepherd, which bears all the structural honesty for which Hunt was later to become famous. It is also important as one of several related buildings by Hunt in the valley.
A plain brick building with steep pitched gable roof, vestry to north facade and timber entry porch to west facade. Windows are round headed, long and narrow. Gable ends have decorative timber barge boards. Belfry to eastern end of ridge has slate roof. Timber scissor trusses inside, with timber boarding behind. Stringcourse of brick about 1.2m above ground level.
The tiled roof was originally shingled. Internal walls have been painted and stencil pattern applied. Trusses have also been painted. The aisle floor was tiled in 1934. The memorial gates and the fence were erected in 1935.
