The first school in South Kumminin opened in the local hall in 1925, and continued until 1932 when it was temporarily closed. In 1934 the one room , one teacher Mt Arrowsmith School was relocated to South Kumminin and the school continued to operate through the war years until 1949 when the school bus service transported the children to Narembeen School.
