D'après le cahier de délibérations du Conseil Municipal, la commune de Courtecon possédait une église placée sous le patronage de saint Martin. De style ogival, elle était munie de vitraux peints, d´un tableau d´autel sur toile représentant une Descente de Croix. Entièrement détruit au cours de la Première Guerre mondiale, l´édifice fut remplacé par une chapelle rappelant l'existence du village qui comptait 133 habitants en 1914.

Située dans un fond de vallée au pied du Chemin des Dames, la chapelle est totalement isolée. De plan massé, cet édifice comporte un vaisseau d'une travée de long. La façade, percée de deux baies flanquant la porte centrale, est pourvue d'un pignon à redents, supportant le toit haut et pentu ainsi qu'un clocher ajouré. Les murs gouttereaux sont percés d'une unique baie cintrée. Le chevet plat, soutenu par deux petits contreforts, reçoit le jour par un triplet cintré. Les motifs stylisés animent le pourtour des ouvertures. L'entrée de la crypte est protégée par un auvent. Une plaque commémorative renseigne le visiteur sur la date de construction : "Ici reposent les restes des ancêtres de / Courtecon / exhumés en ces lieux / lors de l'édification de cette chapelle / 1932". L'édifice souterrain laisse apparaître les fondations en béton armé."

"According to the deliberations of the Municipal Council, the commune of Courtecon had a church under the patronage of Saint Martin. Of pointed style, it was furnished with painted stained-glass windows, an altar painting on canvas representing a Descent from the Cross. Completely destroyed during the First World War, the building was replaced by a chapel recalling the existence of the village which had 133 inhabitants in 1914.

Situated in a valley floor at the foot of the Chemin des Dames, the chapel is totally isolated. Of massed plan, this edifice comprises a vessel of a span of length. The facade, pierced by two bays flanking the central door, is provided with a gable with teeth, supporting the high and steep roof and a bell tower. The gutter walls are pierced by a single arched bay. The flat chevet, supported by two small buttresses, receives the day by a curved triplet. The stylized motifs animate the perimeter of the openings. The entrance to the crypt is protected by a canopy. A commemorative plaque informs the visitor about the date of construction: "Here rest the remains of the ancestors of / Courtecon / exhumed in these places / during the construction of this chapel / 1932". The underground building reveals the foundations of reinforced concrete. "
