The Internal Fire - Museum of Power - Features fully working giant industrial Diesel engines & the generators or pumps that they drive.
The museum even has a complete working 3 Megawatt, jet turbine driven power station, it can generate power for 10,000 homes. (Yes Complete & Working)
the only museum in the World to run a Jet Turbine indoors.
Recently the Museum has branched out into Steam Engines, in line with the Museum mission they must be fully working. Several massive Steam engines are being refurbished within the New Steam Hall. Including a steam engine out of a paddle steamer.
The emphasis of the Internal Fire Museum is diesel power, industrial engines dating from from the 1900s to the 1960s.
The Massive exhibits are displayed in as near to the original working environment as possible so that visitors can see, smell and hear these engines, displayed within 11 halls.
