CH147 201 began service with the US Army in 1968. Built as a CH47C, it bore s/n 68-16017. In 1989 it was upgraded to CH147D and reissued s/n 89-00130 conversion number (c/n) 3284. It was one of seven Chinooks leased from the US Army for use with the Canadian Joint Task Force Air Wing (JTFAW) in Afghanistan. All aircraft were in storage at Davis-Monthan AFB when leased in 2008.
201 saw operational duty in Afghanistan until the end of Canadian combat operations in 2014. It carried the nose artwork, "Miss Behavin" - a throwback to the morale-boosters of the Second World War and Korea.
Following the cessation of Canada's combat mission the CH147Ds were withdrawn and replaced by the new Canadian CH147F in the fleet inventory. A few have survived, but most have been scrapped.
The Chinook is located in the outdoor airpark of the National Air Force of Canada, on RCAF Road in Trenton, ON.
