Construite entre 1824 et 1830, l’Eglise Notre-Dame se trouve sur l’emplacement de l’ancien château de Chef- Boutonne. L’architecte, Pierre-Théophile Segretain, a basé ses plans sur le style néo-classique, très en vogue à cette époque. C’est la raison pour laquelle elle ressemble à l’Eglise de la Madeleine à Paris.

Built between 1824 and 1830, Notre-Dame Church is located on the site of the former castle of Chef-Boutonne. The architect, Pierre-Théophile Segretain, based his plans on the neo-classical style, very in vogue at that time. This is why it resembles the Church of the Madeleine in Paris.
