Home begun, 1856, with slave labor, by Chas. Wm. Tait. Military surgeon, surveyor, Texas Legislator, planter. After Civil War duty in 4th Texas Calvary, finished home.
Cottonwood siding. Hand-molded brick in the four chimneys and basement.
