The Gingin Roads Board was formed in 1893 and until this building was erected met in various locations in the town, the building was constructed in 1911 at a cost of 300pounds ($600), it consisted of a single room with an open fireplace and a central front door and continued as the Road Board Office until 1968 when the new one was built.
