Measuring 15' high by 150' long, this mural helps to tell the history of the legendary restaurant's existence.
From left to right, a steam train on a trestle, a mountain peak, and a faded Coca-Cola bottle start the story, along with the name "Papa Norman" in scrolling letters. Next is a cartoonish figure of a waiter tossing rolls, against an American flag backdrop (Lambert's is the "home of the throwed roll"). An antique car helps fill out the frame. Then, we have a likeness of the original Lambert's store along with a likeness of Mrs. Lambert. Above it all in scrolling script are the words, "Established 1942 Ole War Drum Sikeston MO Ozark, MO Foley AL Four Generations". Then there are drawings of other Lambert's locations over the years, as well as likenesses of the Lambert family, who started it all. Following that, another cartoonish waiter throwing rolls against a Missouri flag backdrop. Then we see two horses grazing in an area called "Todd's Garden". Lastly, there is an image of a green covered bridge with the name "Lambert" on it.
All-in-all, this is one excellent and VERY well-done mural, and definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.
