Private Percy Edward Bursill served with the 1st Pioneer Battalion, 8th Reinforcement of the Australian Imperial Force (AIF). His unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A72 Beltana on 25 November 1916.

He served on the Western Front & died of wounds on 23 Aug 1918 aged 22.
