This mosaic adorns the front of this Catholic church. It symbolizes Mary in her role as supplicant to Christ. The angels are carrying the lance of the crucifixion and a cross. Originally a Greek icon, this version has been updated by placing Mary in front of the Sun. This parish originated in 1933 with a congregation of immigrant Mexican farm workers. This version is more in keeping with the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe who also appears in front of the sun. Being on the outside of the building it is possible to view the mosaic at any time. The picture appears to be composed of glazed tile. There is no record of the artist.
