One of a series of mosaic panels (Jewels in the Town) sited on various buildings around Coalville. This one is on the library. Each panel draws its inspiration from the building itself or from some aspect of the history of Coalville.
The mural shows what might have been a street scene at this location before the library was built. The Bluebell and The Fountain public houses stood either side of an area known as "Marshall's Yard", now occupied by the public library on High Street. There is also a lion....
