A plaque on the Moora - Miling Rd that commemorates fourteen soldiers of the 4th Infantry Battalion who were killed on March 15th 1943 when a mortar shell they were examining exploded.
The wording on the plaque :-
"Australia Remembers 1945-1995
In memory of fourteen soldiers of the 4th Australian Infantry Battalion killed on 15th March 1943 at a location approximately 100metres SSE of this plaque.
The fourteen soldiers were killed when a mortar bomb, being closely examined by the group, exploded, killing all.

The funeral took place at Moora Cemetery on 16th March 1943.
The bodies were transfered to Karrakatta Cemetery after the cessation of war
