This fallout shelter is located on Route 31 between the village of Lyons and the village of Newark in Wayne County, N.Y. This building houses the Wayne county sherriffs department and the Wayne county Jail. This is the third county jail for this area, as the first two were in downtown Lyons during the late 1800's up until the mid 1900's. This jail began taking prisoners in January of 1961.
