2-8 Main St. One of four downtown structures with stamped galvanized sheet iron façade shipped by rail from St. Louis, Mo. Built in 1896 for J. Melvin Samsom where his father’s 1816 Lyman Block stood. Groton Ave. face is rough textured, sandy brick with stamped metal and stone trim."
