Near the hump, one can find a double water tower for the railyard.

This water tower is at the lower end of the "hump" where trains are made by "humping" a car to the appropriate holding track while building the train. The cars are pushed up a small hill, the car or cars are uncoupled and roll down the other side of the hill to holding tracks. The water tower provided water storage for the yard for various needs including the locomotive wash building (like a big carwash for trains) just south of the water tower.
