Located in Scottsdale's arts district, The Museum of the West features paintings, sculpture and design reflecting life in the 19th century west. The building is a Gold certified structure. The exterior features two of the most UV resistant materials, concrete and rusted steel. The concrete is ribbed, creating micro shade areas similar to the exterior of a saguaro, which are planted around the building. On the inside, rare rain water, and more abundant air conditioner condensation is gathered and redistributed to the plantings around the museum.
