"A combined WWI / WWII memorial cross in the grounds of St John the Baptist church with a circular sub-base platform and a five-stepped eight-sided base surmounted by a three-tiered, square sectioned plinth & rectangular sectioned tapering shafted wheel cross. The inscription plaques have raised lettering on upper & middle tier faces of the plinth, and incised inscription on the 6 o'clock lower tier face. Each of the five base steps are incised with one year of the Great War.

Plinth, 6, 3 & 12 o'clock faces. Upper tier : IN PROUD MEMORY OF / THE MEN OF WHITWICK / WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES / IN THE WAR / 1914 - 1918
Middle tier : (NAMES) Plinth, 6 o'clock face, lower tier only : THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR / EVERMORE Plinth, 9 o'clock faces. Upper tier : IN PROUD MEMORY OF / THE MEN OF WHITWICK / WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES / IN THE WAR / 1939 - 1945 Middle tier : (NAMES) On step riser faces, bottom to top : 1914. / 1915. / 1916. / 1917. / 1918."
