Die Gedenktafel befindet sich rechts neben dem Eingang in den Bahnhof Frankfurt (Main) Süd (umgangssprachlich: Frankfurter Südbahnhof). Sie ist in Erinnerung an die 2.621 jüdischen Männer, welche zwischen dem 10. und 14. November 1938 in das KZ Buchenwald und weitere 534 jüdische Männer, welche in das KZ Dachau deportiert wurden, installiert worden. Diese Deportationen waren das Ergebnis der Verhaftungen von Frankfurter Mitbürgern jüdischen Glaubens im Rahmen der Reichspogromnacht.

Zum Gedenken
an 3155 jüdische Männer, die in den Tagen
nach der Pogromnacht vom 9. zum 10.
November 1938 vom Südbahnhof aus in die
Konzentrationslager Buchenwald und
Dachau verschleppt wurden. Die Lagerhaft
kostete vielen von ihnen das Leben. Die
Deportationen verbreiteten Angst und
Schrecken und dienten der Vertreibung aus
Deutschland. Drei Jahre später begann der
nationalsozialistische Massenmord an den
Juden, die in Deutschland und in den von der
Wehrmacht besetzten Ländern lebten.
The memorial plaque is located to the right of the entrance to the train station Frankfurt (Main) South (colloquial: Frankfurter Südbahnhof). It was placed in memory of the 2,621 Jewish men, who were deported to Buchenwald concentration camp and the 534 Jewish men, who were deported to the Dachau concentration camp between the 10th and 14th of November 1938. These deportations were the result of the arrests of Jewish Frankfurt citizens within the Kristallnacht.

To the memory
of the 3155 Jewish men who were deported
in the days after the Kristallnacht from the 9th
to the 10th November 1938 from the Südbahnhof
to the concentration camps Buchenwald and Dachau.
During the imprisonment, many of them lost
their lives. The Deportations spread fear and
Terror and prepare the expulsion from Germany.
Three years later the Nazi mass murder of the
Jews in Germany and in the countries occupied
by the Wehrmacht begun.
