This tree was cut in two by lightning, and the owner here had it caved into a bear.

Notice the bear is facing away from the street, and looking out across the foot bridge.
Up where the water tower is, through the woods, is the local high school. And the kids who walk cut through the Woods and through this property.
The creek here can get ugly at times, and this home owner built the bridge to ease the travels of these kids, and then when the tree became available, he made the bear sit and watch for the kids....
