"1795: Vermont News (Windsor, 29 June, 1795) We hear from Hatfield that during the storm of the 16th instant, Mr. Seth Bardwell of that town was instantly killed by lightening as he was at work in the open field; a son of his, near him, was struck down, but fortunately received no material injury. Notice "Spooners Vermont Journal," issue Monday, 29 June, 1795 )."
