There is a small parking area at the entrance to the Cessnock Airport, and this is used for those people wanting to drop into the Hunter Valley Visitor Centre to find out some of the MANY Sights and Sites to see.
A popular destination is Historic Wollombi, in the southern part of the Hunter Valley. But it is a place that few of the locals have even been to, so there is a specific large map set up just at the entrance to the Visitors Centre. As the map says, it is a good 30 minutes drive from the the Airport and Visitors Centre to Wollombi.
There are three sections to this "Wollombi - District Map", being a large scale part on the lower right, showing various general routes from where "You Are Here" (HV Visitor Centre). Being, a) shortest, through Cessnock south of Here, b) heading west towards Pokolbin, but then head south through Mount View through 'a tonne of' vineyards, or c) head further west to Broke, then south to Wollombi.
The middle section shows (with icons) where the Shops, Accommodations and Fuel is in Wollombi, and the neighbouring town of Laguna. It also shows the various local roads to that area. It shows the linking (extension)road to Sydney and the Central Coast - Tourist Drive 33.
On the top left is a smaller scale map specifically of Wollombi Village, with the local landmarks, food, and shops identified.
