The Blue Bell is a former canal bargees pub over looking the Trent and Mersey Canal. (visit link)

The recently renovated hanging sign depicts a large blue painted bell.

On the front of the building evidence of an old stone and cement sign, for which Dix's Brewery in Shelton were responsible, can be seen. They only had about 30 pubs and were absorbed by Parker's. The 'Dix and Company Ales' was in concrete, but had been chiselled off, Parkers having put their own name(in red and gold) on top, which in turn had worn away. In Kelly's Directory of 1892 William Colclough is listed as the licensee.
It was the Potteries Pub Preservation Group winner of the Community Pub of the Year for 2000, 2002, and 2011.
