These two small lions sit at the roadside entrance to a small ferry port on the Nam Khan River, to the immediate east of the town of Luang Prabang. From here boats travel back and forth, and along the River. The lions are maybe a metre high, white in colour, and perhaps not the most skilfully crafted stone animals ever. Yet they do their job, protecting the good people of this pleasant city against incoming threats.
