The New Commercial Inn is located on the corner of London Road and Penkhull New Road in Stoke.

It has a hanging sign that depicts the moon, stars, a pint glass of beer, a saxophone and musical notes set on a blue background. The words New Commercial Inn are at the top of the sign and Free House at the bottom with Worthington Cream Flow to one side.

This sign is interesting because the picture on the other side has a different layout and appears more modern. It it has the words New at the top and Commercial Inn at the bottom. The picture is more simplistic and depicts three glasses a saxophone and guitar outlined in black and set on a red background.
This side of the sign matches the paintwork of the pub which is painted in red and white.
There are posters and signs showing that all Stoke City football matches are televised at the pub. Maybe that might have something to do with the colours red or perhaps it is just a coincidence! (visit link)
