At a taxistand in the Wandsbek district of Hamburg, this solar powered callbox is located.
In 1912 the first 54 callboxes were installed in Hamburg. Since then the technology remained almost unchanged and were quite susceptible to faults. In 2015, the old callboxes were replaced by the new ones, which were equipped with solar modules on two sides of the column.
