"220 South Main.   Two story brick late Victorian building built c. 1900. Contributing.

"Dr. J.A. Martin, Office and Drug Store, (The Palestine Chamber of Commerce Office). This Late Victorian Style, brown brick (running bond), two story building has a cast iron facade of large rosettes and leaf designs on five piers. A row of rosettes form a design above the plate glass windows.

"The parapet has a metal frieze of a two feet wide dentil design with a space in the center for a signboard that can be read faintly, that spells "DRUG STORE." The second story windows are in a recessed area topped by a decorative brick stringcourse. A metal awning shades the windows on the second story. There is a single double-hung window on the north and south of the center double windows, and there are metal window hoods with pediments and brackets over each window.

"The street level facade has an entry to the second story on the north of two slender glazed doors with transoms and side lights. The rest of the facade has two large, plate glass windows with the entrance door between and transoms over all. A decorative circular and rectangular wrought iron awning and balcony are original to the c. 1900 building. There are metal steps and a ledge of metal at the foundation, just above the sidewalk. (Photographs # 28 and 29)." ~ NRHP Nomination Form
