Anne Revere was an actress on stage, in the movies, and on television. She made her Broadway debut in the production of The Great Barrington. She was first in movies when she acted in a role she played in Broadway in Double Door in 1934. She was three times nominated for Best Supporting Actress and one once, for her role as Mrs. Brown in the movie, National Velvet, in 1944. Other films she appeared in include: The Song of Bernadette (Nominated), Gentleman's Agreement (Nominated), and Tell Me That You Love Me, Junie Moon.
In 1960, she won a Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play, while acting in Toys in the Attic. Also in 1960, she appeared in several soap operas including Search for Tomorrow and Ryan's Hope.
