Stone corbels on the exterior door arches of the south wall of St Mary's church, Stonham Parva.
The carved faces still have fine detail and look wonderfully realistic. It makes one wonder if these faces were based on the mason who carved them, and perhaps family or friends, or maybe the wealthy patrons who had commissioned the church.
St Mary's is a lovely 14th century church located beside a farm which was once the manor house. The bulk of the church was rebuilt in Perpendicular style in the 14th century.
