"A bronze sculpture of Dr. Isaiah F. Everhart seated in a granite chair. He is dressed in a professional dresscoat and slacks. His partially extended proper left hand has a dove perched on it and he is looking at the dove. He holds an Audubon book in his lap in his proper right hand. The sculpture is mounted atop a base, with a cornice on top, and faces a reflecting pool."

"...Dr. Isaiah Fawkes Everhart, a local medical doctor and skilled taxidermist. Many of the specimens in the museum's extensive ornithological collection came from Dr. Everhart's personal collection...Following military service as a surgeon during the Civil War, Dr. Everhart conceived the idea of assembling a comprehensive collection of Pennsylvania's native birds and animals...In honor of the museum's founder, a bronze statue of Dr. Everhart and Lake Everhart were dedicated on May 20, 1911. Dr. Everhart died just five days later on May 25, 1911."

"On February 3, 1907, Dr. Everhart announced his gift of a museum to the city of Scranton. Work began immediately on the Isaiah Fawkes Everhart Museum of Natural History, Science and Art, which opened its doors for the first time on May 30, 1908."
