I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey RESET benchmark from 1970 in good condition. This disk is also listed on a topography map as 'BM 5118'. The NGS datasheet description is adequate for station recovery and the posted NGS coordinates will place you very close to this mark.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1970 25.8 MI N FROM SUSANVILLE. ABOUT 25.8 MILES NORTH ALONG HIGHWAY 139 FROM THE JUNCTION OF HIGHWAY 139 AND HIGHWAY 36 IN SUSANVILLE, ON THE EAST SIDE OF EAGLE LAKE AT POST MILE 25.80, 100 FEET SOUTH OF THE BEGINNING OF A 723-FOOT LONG CURVE TO THE LEFT IN THE HIGHWAY, 70 FEET EAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE ROAD, ABOUT 5 FEET ABOVE THE LEVEL OF THE HIGHWAY, SET IN THE TOP OF A 2 1/2 BY 7 FOOT LAVA ROCK OUTCROP PROJECTING ABOUT 1 FOOT ABOVE GROUND LEVEL AND MARKED BY A METAL WITNESS POST.
